Deep Thinking

If others would think as hard as I did, then they would get similar results.
– Isaac Newton

I'll admit it, I'm a skimmer. By default, I tend to read things quickly and scan through them. I'm pretty good at it and I typically can grab some salient points or nuggets that I may use later. It takes a concerted effort for me to think more deeply about what I'm reading. Right now, I'm trying out Obsidian (thanks to Ben Kennedy and Eric Sowell!) and a workflow that I'm starting to dig. It allows me to continue to read the way that I have; highlighting in my Kindle as I go and even capturing some things as Reading Notes or Thinking Notes. But, more importantly, it provides a vehicle for me to integrate these things as I make space to think more deeply.

Ultimately, this the goal is intentional time to think more deeply but also important is having the materials with which to do so. I enjoy connecting dots and having the opportunity to connect things that weren't previously connected for me (even if I sometimes found out I'm wrong). What is your workflow & committed space for thinking deeply look like?
