Your Business Has a Dashboard. You Don't.
I can tell you Improving’s trailing revenue, headcount by practice, and pipeline velocity in about 30 seconds. I had no idea what my HRV was for the first 44 years of my life, and I was running on that body every single day.
At some point I started treating my health the way I treat the business: with data, feedback loops, and a system. WHOOP tracks my recovery and sleep. DEXA tells me where my body composition is actually going. Function Health shows what’s happening in my bloodwork before it shows up as a symptom. I don’t do all of this because I’m obsessive (ok, maybe I do). I do it because flying blind on yourself while obsessing over your company metrics is a weird kind of selective blindness.
WHOOP just closed at a $10.1 billion valuation headed toward an IPO. Oura is tracking toward $1 billion in revenue. A Stanford study published this year showed an AI model can predict more than 100 health conditions from a single night of sleep data. This is not wellness industry noise. This is infrastructure and insight. Executives who figure that out now will have a 10-year compounding advantage over those who treat their annual physical as their health strategy. More of us are looking to work longer than our parents’ generation did, but we need to be healthy to do so (or to enjoy whatever that chapter of life holds).
Your business has a dashboard. It tells you when something is trending in the wrong direction before it becomes a crisis. You need that same system for the asset running the business.
