"I'm a logical person and I arrived at my conclusion because it's right.”
"You arrived at a different conclusion; it's because you're wrong.”
People start from different places. We all have our context and our background. That's where God has put us and how he has made us. Its where we are. Add to that the fact that we have difference experiences and thus different filters that we process our experiences through and things get even more complicated. By focusing on enhancing our understanding of someone else's context and thought processes we not only come to know them better but also grow in our ability to explain our own. One thing that I've been working to practice is asking more questions BEFORE I arrive at conclusions. When was the last time you explored someone else's understanding before you derived your own?
